Tim Slater

I joined Hatmill in 2020 having spent the majority of my 30-year career working in third-party logistics with Ocean Group, Exel and DHL. During that time I have worked in Solution Design, Business Development and General Management roles across a broad range of industry sectors including FMCG, Utilities and Construction, Industrial and most recently Lifesciences and Healthcare.

Delivering transformations to the supply chains of blue chip companies in both the UK and globally

I joined Hatmill in 2020 having spent the majority of my 30-year career working in third-party logistics with Ocean Group, Exel and DHL. During that time I have worked in Solution Design, Business Development and General Management roles across a broad range of industry sectors including FMCG, Utilities and Construction, Industrial and most recently Lifesciences and Healthcare.  My last role was as the Chief Executive of NHS Supply Chain.

During my career I has worked with both UK and global blue-chip companies to deliver transformations in their supply chains, including;

  • Integration of two significant supply chain operations in the FMCG sector following the merger of two competing businesses, designing the new solution and managing the new build and implementation.
  • Redesigning and transforming the supply chains of two major infrastructure management companies in the transport and utilities sector including the establishment of central stores and field stock rooms.
  • Transition of an end to end supply chain including procurement, logistics, IT and customer services from one provider to 13 contracts including the TUPE of over 2000 people.

Much of my work has been supporting boards with the development and execution of supply chain strategy focused on the physical delivery but also the important cultural transition.

By improving their demand forecast, we helped one client save £3m in agency staffing costs (that’s an 18% reduction).
