Helping people filter through the complex landscape of automation, and support them to take the next steps to enhance their business.
I joined Hatmill in March 2021 after four years of experience within the construction sector, followed by three subsequent years in Warehouse Automation Design. Joining Hatmill has provided me with an entirely new perspective where I hope to bring my knowledge and experience to companies, help people filter through the complex landscape of automation, and support them to take the next steps to enhance their business.
The first step in my career was into the construction industry, where I began a graduate scheme. The graduate scheme exposed me to all aspects of the business, providing a rounded experience predominantly on the technical side. Throughout this process, I learned everything from operational limitations to commercial negotiations. After two years, I began a technical product role to look at large road infrastructure projects. The primary outcome was to assist architects, engineers, and local councils to optimise the road network budgets through re-design. After a year within this role, I moved onto managing a team responsible for production plants’ technical capability within the West Midlands; this formed a more comprehensive array of responsibilities, including coaching, succession planning, technical compliance, and product development.
Looking for the next challenge, my final role before joining Hatmill was at Vanderlande as part of the Sales Engineering team. As a Sales Engineer, I began my journey within warehouse automation, designing for companies, focusing on the food, fashion, and general merchandise industry. My involvement would range from conceptual ideas and flow optimisations to c-suite board proposals. Throughout this time, I applied numerous technologies to address these challenges leading to an extensive knowledge of the automation market. My key focus has always been and will be to transform complex data into realistic and tangible business plans.
Key experiences include:
– Sale of multiple automation investments in grocery and fashion both in greenfield and brownfield applications
– Bidding of significant automation investments at five million (GBP) to over one hundred million within a diverse range of applications such as e-commerce, business-to-business, omnichannel
– Implementation of continuous improvement plans within production and warehousing environments
