Noel Uzzell

I recently joined Hatmill having spent the last 30 years in Logistics General Management overseeing various in-house food operations for two of the UK’s leading supermarkets and bring extensive warehousing and transport experience.

A seasoned operator with a grounded hands on common sense approach to running operations as well as managing change and large scale projects in fast moving logistics environments I pride myself on being as comfortable in the board room as I am on the shop floor.

I recently joined Hatmill as an associate having spent the last 30 years in Logistics General Management overseeing various in-house food operations for two of the UK’s leading supermarkets and bring extensive warehousing and transport experience.  My experience covers day to day operational management, new build and start up with experience of retail small formats and home shopping, as well as automation and its application in a fresh food environment and automotive. I pride myself on a grounded hands, on common sense approach to logistics management with an ability to communicate and drive change at all levels.

Having spent much of my career in a retail FMCG environment, more recently I branched out into automotive logistics managing the line side delivery operation for a well known 3PL on behalf of one of the Uk’s prestige car manufactures. A fast moving and challenging environment with a customer who demanded and expected the highest standards of performance and delivery required an operator who was is top of there game constantly.

My FMCG experience has largely been General Management of ‘Big Sheds with Big Trucks’ for two of the UK’s biggest retailers; having run over 10 operations in my 20 years of hands on operational general management.

In a changing retail environment I have also had experience of small format convenience stores and how these can be integrated into a large store network while maintaining the lowest cost to serve model. I have also project managed supply chain change in a large retail environment to support the demands of a growing retail home shopping business.

New builds, start ups, re-sites and re-purposing of facilities are my specific areas of interest having completed many successful projects during my career.

Working with Hatmill is an exciting new venture for me and an opportunity to share my experience and knowledge with those who will value and appreciate the support.
