Helen Price

I joined the Hatmill team in 2021 following over 25 years’ management experience in supply chain and logistics. Most of my career has been working in 3PL where I have undertaken operational, commercial, project management, and strategic roles at a senior level. Working as an associate for Hatmill enables me to apply the extensive experience I have gained across a wide range of sectors including FMCG, automotive, pharmaceutical, industrial, and aerospace.

I am passionate about optimising supply chains; identifying key challenges, solutions and strategies which deliver tangible improvements to cost, efficiency and service.

Most of my career has been working in 3PL where I have undertaken operational, commercial, project management, and strategic roles at a senior level. Working as an associate for Hatmill enables me to apply the extensive experience I have gained across a wide range of sectors including FMCG, automotive, pharmaceutical, industrial, and aerospace.

My career started as a graduate trainee with NFC which gave me an excellent grounding in logistics and management. My first management role was Contract Manager of a small transport operation based on the customer’s site. I progressed on from NFC to undertake varied roles within Ryder which ranged from solutions design and implementation of automotive projects, including the design and implementation of sequenced lineside deliveries for Vauxhall Motors, to General Manager of Sainsbury’s home delivery.

My programme management skills were further developed whilst working with Kuehne+Nagel, implementing Budweiser into the K+N drinks network, and moving Whitbread’s supply chain from in house to 3PL. Working at SSL International, I gained experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare and international supply chain development, working on several projects in India and Thailand. More recently I have worked in ambient FMCG at Fowler Welch, firstly as General Manager of a 500,000 sq. ft. multi-customer national distribution centre servicing the big 4, foodservice and independents and more recently in a commercial and business development capacity.

I love being able to objectively help a customer develop their supply chain and logistics operations, to be able to see the wood from the trees. I particularly enjoy the challenge of needing to quickly understand the customer’s business and identify the key challenges and solutions to drive improvement.

By improving their demand forecast, we helped one client save £3m in agency staffing costs (that’s an 18% reduction).
