Helen Price

I joined the Hatmill team in 2021 following over 25 years’ management experience in supply chain and logistics. Most of my career has been working in 3PL where I have undertaken operational, commercial, project management, and strategic roles at a senior level. Working as a Consultant for Hatmill enables me to apply the extensive end-to-end supply chain experience I have gained across a wide range of sectors including FMCG, automotive, pharmaceutical, industrial, and aerospace to bring value to our clients.

My key strength is optimising supply chains; identifying key challenges, solutions, and strategies which deliver tangible improvements to cost, efficiency, and service.

Working as a Consultant for Hatmill enables me to apply the extensive end-to-end supply chain experience I have gained across a wide range of sectors including FMCG, automotive, pharmaceutical, industrial, and aerospace to bring value to our clients.

My career started as a graduate trainee with NFC which gave me an excellent grounding in logistics and management. My first management role was as Contract Manager of a small transport operation based on the customer’s site. I progressed from NFC to undertake varied roles within Ryder, ranging from solutions design and implementation of automotive projects for Nissan and Vauxhall Motors, to General Manager of Sainsbury’s nationwide home delivery service.

My programme management skills were further developed whilst working with Kuehne+Nagel, implementing Budweiser into the K+N drinks network, and moving Whitbread’s supply chain from in-house to a brand new warehouse. Working at Reckitt Benckiser, I gained experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, and international supply chain development, working on several projects in India and Thailand. Prior to joining Hatmill, I worked in ambient FMCG at Fowler Welch firstly as General Manager of a 500,000 sq. ft. multi-customer national distribution operation before progressing on to head up the ambient commercial and business development function.

I love being able to objectively help a customer develop their supply chain and logistics operations, to be able to see the wood from the trees. I particularly enjoy the challenge of quickly understanding the customer’s business and identifying the key challenges and solutions to drive improvement.

By improving their demand forecast, we helped one client save £3m in agency staffing costs (that’s an 18% reduction).
