Gareth Buxton

I joined Hatmill in 2019 after returning to the UK, having spent the previous five years working for the largest waste equipment provider in North America.

My last role was Director of Operations (Manufacturing) for Wastequip, who manufacture plastic and steel equipment. I had P&L ownership of all North America facilities and North America service unit.

Passionate about working with teams to better manage their work flow in order to meet their business objectives

Prior to that, I was Plant Manager of their single largest plant based in North Carolina. This was a Private Equity owned business.

Highlights include:

  • Project managed a site shutdown after a network review. This resulted in a $3.8m annualised fixed cost & labour saving
  • Implementation of an annualised Cycle Count program. Improving visibility and accuracy from 40% to 2%
  • Capacity improvement of 33% over 2 years through labour turnover reduction.

My most recent experience with Hatmill includes:

  • End-to-end stock management review of a leading jewellery retailer resulting in continuation work;
  • Designed and implemented new operational procedures and training documents for a retailer within their warehouse and store operation
  • Created costing model and project plan to migrate a business unit into a pre-existing DC within a large retailers network

  • Implemented and managed an eCommerce warehouse, supplying a wide range of customers including multiple big box retailers.

I’m looking forward to working with a strong team of professionals at Hatmill. Being able to balance getting into the detail, and then translating that to influence board decisions is something I love doing.

By improving their demand forecast, we helped one client save £3m in agency staffing costs (that’s an 18% reduction).
